Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
"“If you can do what you do best and be happy, you’re further along in life than most people.”
— Leonardo Dicaprio
What is OCD?
People with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) experience repetitive and intrusive thoughts, feelings, or urges called obsessions. OCD affects both children and adults. These obsessions do not align with a person's actual values or desires. As a result of the intensity of the obsessions, individuals with OCD perform compulsions, which are repetitive physical or mental behaviors to relieve distress.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is common. It affects roughly 1 out of 40 people and is highly treatable. At New World Psychology, we’re dedicated to help you, your child, and your family through such challenges by using evidence-based treatments.
