Confidentiality & Privacy Policy
The law protects the relationship between client and therapist. We will not disclose information without your written permission. Exceptions include:
Suspected abuse of a child, a dependent adult, or an elderly person: We are required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.
Clients who are threatening serious bodily harm to another person or a group: We must notify the police and inform the intended victim(s).
Clients who intend to harm themselves: We will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they do not cooperate, we will take further measures, without their permission, that are provided to us by law to ensure their safety.
Minor Confidentiality:
Minors under the age of 18 have limited confidentiality; some information will be disclosed to legal guardians. Minors between the ages of 12 and 18 have an increase in confidentiality during individual treatment sessions, with the above exceptions.
