ABOUT
Hello, and welcome! I’m Nora, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) for the State of Illinois. I was born and raised in Norwood Park, so Chicago is home! Lucky for me, I have devoted the entirety of my professional career to date as a Child Therapist in both the northern suburbs and the City of Chicago. My happiness in working from “home” enhances my excitement and devotion for helping patients to become their best selves. I’m glad you’re here!
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, with a second major in Healthcare Administra-tion and Policy, from Creighton University. The following year, I went on to earn my Master’s in Social Work at Loyola University, specializing in the health track. After a short hiatus in Omaha, Nebraska for undergrad, I quickly returned to Chicago for graduate school. I love that I now can provide Therapeutic Services to Children and Families in the Chicagoland area!
I have worked extensively with children ages 5 to14 in both individual and group settings in the Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient levels of care; my role centered around teaching Coping Skills and engaging in Behavioral Interventions to help children gain insight and willingness to make helpful choices in managing their emotions. Additionally, I have worked as a Child and Adolescent Exposure Therapist, and I am skilled in the assessment and diagnosis of Complex Anxiety Disorders, as well as the provision of Exposure Response Prevention Therapy. Beyond my direct clinical experience, I have worked as a Pediatric Medical Social Worker in my years as an intern, which I loved just as much.
My therapeutic approach with clients focuses on providing an empathic space to listen, process, and engage in strengths-based and skills-based perspectives to help you, your child, and your family reach goals and cope with life’s stressors. While I do have a great deal of knowledge and experience in work with Children and Families, I am also confident in my ability to generalize my clinical skills as necessary to work with Adolescents and Young Adults. I am excited to get to know and to build relationships with your child and your family so that we can work together to create positive change.
